Competitive Events

North Dakota HOSA offers many competitive events held prior to or during the State Leadership Conference. Each year, students are allowed to participate in up to:

• 2 test only events
• 1 individual event
• 1 team event
• and HOSA BOWL

Accommodations

Requesting Accommodations? There are two reasons to fill out this form.

1. You are a competitor in one of the following four (4) events: Interviewing Skills, Personal Care, Life Support Skills, and Speaking Skills. These four (4) events in the HOSA Competitive Event Program are designed for students classified with an IEP. In order to participate in these four events, the competitor MUST be classified under the provision of the 2004 reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Students classified under Section 504 are NOT eligible to compete in this event.
2. You have a special educational need or require special medical assistance and need to request an accommodation for another competitive event. Read the GRRs and Appendix H for examples of what it means to request an accommodation.

Events Requiring Digital Upload

The following competitive events require competitors to upload digital materials for SLC by March 1, 2026. Remember – uploading for state conference DOES NOT mean you have submitted for ILC. You must follow the instructions above to submit your materials for ILC by May 15, 2026.

Competitors should check at the local level to determine what events require a digital upload for any regional and state/chartered association conferences.
